چکیده

Energy demand is currently increasing in line with technological and economic developments, but not accompanied by an increase energy reserves. So we need another alternative that can be renewed, namely biodiesel. Biodiesel has been produced commercially through the transesterification from vegetable oil methanol using catalyst produces esters glycerol. The formation of glycerol which by-product reduce its value, so it needs to done separation process. Therefore, a new route proposed this study, interesterification reaction (non-alcoholic route) methyl acetate as alkyl group supplier potassium methoxide catalyst. superiority product biodiesel triacetin byproducts have economical value added formulations because their solubility no side process needed. To yield rate, ultrasound method was used study. optimize factors affect (molar ratio oil, concentration, temperature, time), Box-Behnken design (BBD) used. Optimal operating conditions produce yields 98.64 % are at molar palm 18.74, concentration 1.24 %, temperature 57.84 °C, time 12.69 minutes.

A Box-Behnken experimental design for microwave assisted extraction optimization of pectin from citron peel

Microwave assisted extraction technique was employed to extract pectin from citron peel. Box-Behnken design was applied to investigate the influence of irradiation time, microwave power and pH on the yield and DE of pectin. The finding indicated that the optimal conditions for the maximum yield of pectin (30.71%) were achieved at irradiation time of 3 min, microwave power of 700 W and pH of 1.5...

Production of biodiesel from coastal macroalgae (Chara vulgaris) and optimization of process parameters using Box-Behnken design.

Renewable biodiesels are needed as an alternative to petroleum-derived transport fuels, which contribute to global warming and are of limited availability. Algae biomass, are a potential source of renewable energy, and they can be converted into energy such as biofuels. This study introduces an integrated method for the production of biodiesel from Chara vulgaris algae collected from the coasta...

Biodiesel Production from Palm Oil using Heterogeneous Base Catalyst

In this study, the transesterification of palm oil with methanol for biodiesel production was studied by using CaO–ZnO as a heterogeneous base catalyst prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation (IWI) and co-precipitation (CP) methods. The reaction parameters considered were molar ratio of methanol to oil, amount of catalyst, reaction temperature, and reaction time. The optimum conditions—15:1 ...

Ultrasound-Assisted Biodiesel Production in microreactors

The ultrasound-assisted (UA) soybean oil methanolysis using KOH as a catalyst was studied at different reaction conditions in a microreactor. Box–Behnken experimental design, with three variables, was performed and the effects of three reaction variables i.e. reaction temperature, catalyst concentration and the methanol-to-oil molar ratio on fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) yield were evaluated b...

Ultrasound Assisted In Situ Esterification of Rubber Seeds Oil for Biodiesel Production (RESEARCH NOTE)

Since the conventional esterification method requires longer processing time and obtain low yield, the intensification of this process is still interesting subject to be investigated. To reduce the oil extraction cost from seeds which almost 70% of total processing cost, in situ esterification has been recently introduced. The objective of study was to produce biodiesel from rubber seeds oil th...
